Kathleen Miller M.A.
Create4Wellbeing LLC
Kathleen is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and the owner of Create4Wellbeing in Oakland, CA where she combines her work as a behavioral scientist and artist to research, design, and teach therapeutic expressive art practices that support self-discovery and awakening. Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, a BA in Behavioral Science (a cross-disciplinary degree in psychology, sociology, and anthropology with a focus on ancient wisdom traditions) and minor studies in art, Therapeutic Art Coach certification, advanced certification in the Usui System of Natural Healing, and of over 30 years of non-dual and direct awareness study and practice.
Raised by two artists, Kathleen has been making art her entire life. While she always knew she wanted to be an artist, she also felt a predilection for social work and the study of wisdom traditions. In time she found that her three vocations quite naturally complimented and enhanced each other. During her early years teaching in special education, then later in her work as an elementary school counselor and psychology intern, Kathleen saw first hand how art, psychology, and wisdom traditions can be synthesized in ways that help people to self-regulate and sustain well-being both personally and collectively.
As an interdisciplinary artist, Kathleen explores the impact that human actions, habits, beliefs, stories, and mythologies have on the psychological health of individuals and societies. Some of her interactive pieces are designed to show how art itself can change the way we feel and even be used as a touchstone for personal and planetary healing.
Kathleen offers therapeutic expressive art classes, workshops, and webinars. Webinars are offered through Stanford's Healthy Living Program and Create4Wellbeing. Workshops and classes are hosted both online and at various in-person locations. Art pieces can be purchased at art events, gallery exhibitions, Etsy, or by contacting Kathleen directly.
